CREST.BD member explores the role of impulsivity in quality of life in BD

November 24th, 2011 by smcbride

In this article, CREST.BD member Sheri Johnson, along with researchers Sarah Victor (UBC) and Ian Gotlib (Stanford), explore their research concerning the relationship between impulsivity and quality of life (QoL) in BD. The goal of this study was to find out if impulsivity is related to lower QoL in people living with BD I. By addressing this question, the authors explore the relationship between impulsivity and disorders associated with BD (e.g. anxiety, substance misuse) in mediating QoL. The research, published in Bipolar Disorders in 2011, suggests a promising new avenue of research in BD for understanding predictors of, and improving outcomes in this area.
