Dr. Erin Michalak shares some of her knowledge on MedPage’s new article on the Bipolar Disorder Resource Centre and discusses some of the outcomes of our Delphi self-management study. The Delphi study yielded 136 strategies that were rated as being very helpful in self-management of bipolar disorder, and although these strategies were very diverse, we found some commonalities. Strategies were grouped by these commonalities into categories such as “maintaining hope”, “medical management”, “intervening early”, and “planning ahead”.
