Quality of Life and Recovery in People with Bipolar Disorder
On November 10th, 2011 CREST.BD team lead, Erin Michalak, visited The Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby, Ontario. Erin discussed the development and application of the Quality of Life Scale in Bipolar Disorder (QoL.BD), a disorder-specific scale that assesses physical health, mood, sleep, cognition, leisure, social, spirituality, finances, household, self-esteem, independence, identity, work and study. She explores how it can be used as a clinical tool for collaborative goal-setting between people living with bipolar disorder and their healthcare providers.

CREST.BD member explores the role of impulsivity in quality of life in BD
In this article, CREST.BD member Sheri Johnson, along with researchers Sarah Victor (UBC) and Ian Gotlib (Stanford), explore their research concerning the relationship between impulsivity and quality of life (QoL) in BD. The goal of this study was to find out if impulsivity is related to lower QoL in people living with BD I.
Newly published CREST.BD report explores the concept of 'recovery' in people with BD
November 10 | 2011 This report details the preceedings from CREST.BD's 3rd annual Community Consultation Day, which explored the topic of recovery and its meaning to people with BD, their family members and supports.The report provides a unique look at the emerging perspectives on recovery from people with lived experience of BD, their family members and healthcare providers.
