Sheri Johnson, PhD

Sheri Johnson Sheri Johnson is a professor of psychology at the University of California Berkeley. Her work has fo¬cused on psychosocial facets of BD for the past 15 years, with a particular emphasis on un¬derstanding the predictors of mania. Much of this work has centered around reward sensitivity, using life event, cognitive, personality, and behavioral research to understand the ways in which reward sensitivity operate within bipolar disorder.

She is currently developing a psychological treatment for mania drawing on these findings. She serves on the board for Psychological Bulletin, as well as for the So¬ciety for Research in Psychopathology. Her work has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Cancer Institute, the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression, and the National Science Foundation.
