Join us on November 27th for #TalkBD 11 – Memory, Thinking, and Bipolar Disorder! At this online community gathering, Dr. Ivan Torres and Dr. Trisha Chakrabarty will talk about how bipolar disorder affects cognition–that is, mental processes like learning, thinking, focusing and memory. They’ll also answer questions submitted by viewers.

We welcome people with BD and related conditions, healthcare providers, friends, and family to join us for the live online event!

Dr. Torres is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in the Psychiatry Department at UBC, and is affiliated with the BC Psychosis Program and the Mood Disorders Centre at UBC. In his primary clinical role he serves as a clinical neuropsychologist within the BC Psychosis Program at UBC Hospital. His research interests include the study of cognitive and executive functioning in severe psychiatric disorders including Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder.

About Trisha
Dr. Chakrabarty is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia. Her research and clinical interests are in cognitive dsyfunction, virtual reality cognitive retraining, bipolarity, and psychotherapy approaches for mood disorders.

Erin is the Founder and Network Lead of CREST.BD, and Professor at UBC Psychiatry. Her research in mental health, patient-oriented research and quality of life in bipolar disorder is globally recognized. Erin spearheaded the development of the first BD-specific quality of life scale, the QoL.BD. The QoL.BD has seen rapid uptake internationally and is now the gold-standard for BD quality of life assessments. Under Erin, CREST.BD also launched an online version of the QoL.BD, and the Bipolar Wellness Centre, a web portal of scientifically validated wellness strategies for BD. In 2018, she was awarded the CIHRGold Leaf Prize for Transformation in Patient Engagement.
