Dr. Milev moved to Canada in 1995, first to Regina, SK, where he became Medical Director of the Mental Health Clinic, then to Kingston, ON, where he was appointed Clinical Director of the Mood Disorder Research and Treatment Service. He has been the Head of Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, since 2007. Dr. Milev is actively involved in research with people who live with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and other affective disorders. He was involved in the Canadian Network for Mood and Anxiety Treatments guidelines for depression and bipolar disorder. The main areas of his research include stigma, sleep architecture, and psychopharmacological and rTMS treatments. Dr. Milev also has significant teaching experience, having led workshops and panel discussions and presented numerous lectures to healthcare professionals.
Somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me is that I am an inexhaustible street photographer. I love to stroll the streets of cities I travel to for work and pleasure seeking interesting subjects and objects to snap a quick photo. Even better is when Lili joins me.
