Biography

Yan is a PhD Candidate studying under Dr. Greg Murray and working on the ORBIT project. Her main research interest is the role of self and identity in bipolar disorder and whether this may change through an intervention to improve quality of life. Yan values the knowledge of individuals with lived experience, and is interested in exploring western and eastern approaches of focusing on and letting go of self (respectively) in the therapeutic process. One outcome of her PhD will involve identifying the most clinically useful approach to self/identity in bipolar disorder.
