Biography

Dr. Keramatian is an adolescent and adult psychiatrist and a clinical assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Keramatian is a recipient of Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute Investigator Award, and his research interests lie in the area of neuroimaging as well as early interventions in bipolar disorder. He is involved in several bipolar disorder clinical trials at UBC and has published 20 peer-reviewed papers in high-ranking journals, with several others in preparation.

Dr. Keramatian has recently developed a prototype manualized telehealth-based group psychoeducational program and is investigating whether this program can be feasibly implemented to increase knowledge of bipolar disorder, reduce self-stigma, improve help-seeking and enhance resilience in individuals who are at high risk of developing bipolar disorder.

What I do when I'm not working

I enjoy travelling, swimming and hiking. I am also an avid reader of philosophy, psychology and history.
