Dr. Lakshmi Yatham featured as ‘top cited’ researcher in Psychiatry

CREST.BD network member Dr. Lakshmi Yatham has been named among 3,000 individuals included on the annual Highly Cited Researchers list compiled by Clarivate Analytics, which was previously part of Thomson Reuters. The listing identifies authors from around the world who have consistently produced papers which have in turn, won peer approval by having their papers rank in the top 1% most-cited in their respective fields over a recent 11-year period.

Dr. Yatham is featured as 1 of 200 top cited researchers in the academic field of Psychiatry/Psychology, and was also featured on this list as a Highly Cited Researcher in 2014 and 2015. His areas of research interest include neurobiology and treatment of bipolar disorder and major depression. He has published over 250 peer reviewed papers, has a H index of 61, and presented his work at numerous international conferences.

Dr. Yatham is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia and Regional Head of Psychiatry for Vancouver Coastal Health and Providence Healthcare. He is also the Chair of the bipolar disorder group of the Canadian Network for Mood and Anxiety Treatments (CANMAT) as well as the Secretary for the World Federation of Societies for Biological Psychiatry and was the past President for the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. He is on the editorial boards of a number of journals and has published/edited books on bipolar disorders.
