AMA Recap: World Bipolar Day “Ask Me Anything” 2026 🌍

Thank you for making our 8th annual World Bipolar Day “Ask Me Anything ” (AMA) a record-breaking success – we’re thankful to everyone who joined us.

The biggest bipolar disorder event

On March 30th 2026, we hosted our AMA on Reddit, bringing together our largest ever team of 83 bipolar disorder expert panelists from 20 countries. The response was incredible: more than 650 questions, 2,000 comments, 2,500 shares, and over 825,000 views – making this the biggest bipolar disorder community event ever held!

People joined from all over the world – according to Reddit post insights, the most views came from the U.S. (57.6%), followed by Canada (8.9%) and the U.K. (5.3%), alongside many other countries.

Wide-ranging expertise and experience

The topics raised and panelist responses were thoughtful and often deeply personal – covering everything related to the experience of bipolar disorder from diagnosis and medications to relationships, stigma, and what day-to-day life actually looks like.

This year, our largest team ever of 83 panelists from 6 continents offered an extensive variety of perspectives including clinical, research, cultural, and lived experience. That mix of perspectives was the heart of the 2026 AMA.

Popular questions

Of the 650 questions asked by the community, certain topics stood out and sparked significant engagement and discussion. Here are some of the questions:

  • For the psychiatrists, clinicians, and researchers. Honestly, what’s one thing about bipolar you were entirely confident about early in your practice, but years later now you are willing to admit that you were wrong?

  • Reading into hypomania… it seems like it can be so difficult to identify and pin down. It just reads like having a nice day and (subsequently) being in a good mood! Is that not a normal part of the human experience?!

  • How does bipolar disorder change as a person gets older? And how is it managed for someone of advanced age?
